town meeting by moonlight
the crows used to live in victoria park. for as long as i can remember, they'd come out of the woodwork at sunset, flying towards the park.
but the residents around the park started to complain, and i can't really say i blame them. their cars, yards, sidewalks would be covered in bird crap. it's pretty gross.
so, instead of actually dealing with the problem efficiently, the city installed noise makers and simply displaced them as a whole. the crows have simply moved north.
to my neighborhood.
i can definitely sympathize with the people who live around victoria park, and i don't blame them for being frustrated or for wanting something done. the crows were affecting their quality of life.
i just feel that the attempt the city made was poorly chosen. the problem is simply being moved, not fixed.
also, it's incredibly eerie to stand under a tree that has a murder of crows flying among its branches...

oh man. I can't possibly count the number of times I've walked through/past Victoria Park at dusk and felt like running cos I was so scared! it IS eerie. there is no question.
It is most unfortunate that the crows have just moved north. Are people up in arms? Are they complaining to City Hall? Having to walk through sidewalks full of bird poo is pretty gross.
Also, who is the mayor these days?
